The Board of Trustees of the Asotin County Rural Library District has approved a resolution to place a levy lid lift on the November 4, 2025 ballot.
This is not a new levy. If approved, the measure will restore the Library’s levy rate to 50 cents per $1,000 of assessed property value, up from the current rate of 40.25 cents.
For the average home in Asotin County (valued at approximately $300,000), this change would mean:
- $150 per year in library taxes
- An increase of $29.75 per year (about $2.48 per month)
If passed, the lid lift will allow the Library to maintain current services and programs, including:
- Digital Navigator appointments
- Job and Career Catalyst Center
- A robust collection of physical and digital materials
- Programs for all ages
- Deferred maintenance projects
Without this funding, the Library would be forced to cut staffing, hours, and services.
