Honoring the Heart of the Library: Our Volunteers

Volunteer Appreciation Week is April 20-26, 2025

Libraries run on more than books and bytes—they run on people. And some of the most dedicated people in any library are the volunteers.

Our Asotin County Library volunteers shelve books, assist staff at programs, deliver books to homebound patrons, support events, water the library's plentiful plants, and show up with consistency that helps keeps everything moving. They don’t do it for praise or pay—they do it because they believe in what our library means to the community: access, connection, learning.

Volunteer Appreciation Week is a reminder to say what we should say all year long—thank you.

Your time matters. Your presence matters. You make our Asotin County Library more than a place to borrow books—you make it welcoming, alive, and human.

So whether you’ve logged a hundred hours or just got started last week, we see you. We appreciate you. And we’re better because of you.

From all the library staff: thank you.

All library volunteers, past and present, are invited to join us for a soup lunch on Monday, April 21 at 11am in our Downtown Library’s Community Room.
