The Great Alone

This story is about a family's struggle to survive. Dad is having a hard time after returning from the war in Vietnam. They are moving around a lot looking for stability and freedom. The mom struggles navigating her husband's mental health. Their teenage daughter wants everyone happy, healthy and with friends to hang out with.

I got wrapped up in the characters and the ruggedness of the Alaskan wilderness with its beauty and it's brutal ways you could die. As the family struggles to learn survival skills, They have to ask themselves what is scarier: being outdoors or trapped indoors.
