This book a pleasant surprise for me. I am not a fan of fantasy, give me a gritty memoir any day, however I really enjoyed this book. The characters are likable, most of them, anyway. The story line was almost inspirational. I had to keep reminding myself that it was fantasy and not historically accurate and that was “ok”. A welcomed escape from today’s “real world”.
