This Is the most recent book in the Cape Cod based Cozy Capers Book Group and might just be my favorite yet. You could easily jump right in, but I recommend starting at the beginning (our library network has the complete set) so you can get to know the characters and the town of Westham, MA.
If you're familiar with the Cape, you'll feel like you've taken a trip back. Day often holes up on the Cape to work on these books and it shows. You'll smell the sweets in Chatham, feel the breeze on the Shining Sea trail while imagining the bike you rented came from Mac's own store, and compare the chowder to your favorite.
The mystery itself if cozy and the process of getting it solved is quite enjoyable alongside Day's cast of characters. This is closed door and the murder - while still murder - is not an open affair either. You'll get a kick out of Mac's pet bird Belle and find yourself endeared to her parents and Grandmother.
This book has it all....Mystery, cozy, New England nods and Cape Cod vibes, likeable characters, low drama, HAPPY main characters with relatable problems, and an extra treat by way of foodie style writing sprinkled throughout a long with a handful of recipes at the end.
