“To live.”
“To live forever.”

Basically, we have a group of annoying, pretentious, and elite college misfits who think they’re better than everyone… but you kinda really want to be part of their friend group. They also may or may not have murdered one of their own.

Then, it flashes back to how they got there. It’s fun to both hate and romanticize the main cast of characters as a lot of their strengths are also their weaknesses. It’s also interesting to read knowing that one of them will die. I read this book a few years ago and it’s still one of the few books I frequently think back to.

“Beauty is terror. Whatever we call beautiful, we quiver before it.”

If you’re a fan of dark academia, classics, cults, and queer undertones then this is the book for you. I read this book on Libby and loved it so much I ended up buying myself a physical copy of it.

"We don't like to admit it, but the idea of losing control is one that fascinates controlled people such as ourselves more than almost anything.”
